Workshops
Carl Amoth's field-based photography workshops are designed to develop your technical skills and stimulate your creativity in the art and craft of making compelling photographs while experiencing some of the most breathtaking and exciting destinations around the world. Whether you're a novice and your goal is to learn the basics of making better photographs, or you're an advanced photographer wanting to elevate your skills to a whole new level, these workshops have you covered.
They serve as an ideal format for promoting dialog and instruction between you and Carl during the process of making your photographs—accelerating your learning curve while enhancing your enjoyment of the process. They also foster an environment for Carl to listen to your specific goals and challenges and then offer suggestions that you can immediately test in the field—closing the vital feedback loop. If you’re a digital photographer, you have the added advantage of being able to call upon Carl to review your photos on your camera’s display, where composition, visual impact, and exposure data can be examined and assistance offered where needed.

Peru through the Lens — August 14-22, 2010 (Southern Explorations) details
I've teamed up with award winning adventure travel company, Southern Explorations, to offer an incredible and unique photo/trekking tour in one of the planet's most exotic and beautiful regions: Peru.
Here’s a perfect trip for photographers who love to hike and vice versa. On this special Machu Picchu tour, you will be joined by landscape/nature photographer Carl Amoth. His guidance will assist this small group of travelers to capture spectacular photos of one of the world’s most breathtaking sights as well as an eclectic array of other memorable subjects–Peru’s dramatic mountain vistas, Andean flora and fauna, colorful indigenous craft markets and Spanish colonial architecture. Assembled into a nine-day itinerary, these Peru tours visit famous Inca sites as well as the road less traveled, offering an intimate view of the fascinating cultural mix that has shaped the Andean experience. Machu Picchu at dawn and a bird’s-eye view of the citadel from Machu Picchu Mountain are just two of the extraordinary perspectives you’ll experience during six unique hikes. Paced with a photographer’s needs and hiker’s comfort in mind, this trip combines energetic days with relaxing evenings of sharing and critiquing one another’s photos.
